Toni, an unassuming Catholic priest in Calgary Alberta, engages in anonymous gay hook-ups to ease his loneliness. When a spellbinding hookup with playful stranger JP turns into a forbidden romance, Toni faces a crisis of faith and duty as he becomes increasingly unable to hide his “inclinations” from his beloved multicultural parish. Congregation is a squirmy, sexy, unconventional character portrait of a modern priest that shines a light on queer people struggling to find peace within their faith.
